Engineering Full-time

Junior Software Engineer

This role exists to contribute reliable, well-tested code to Traseable's production software products, building and shipping features in collaboration with the Engineering team. The Junior Software Engineer applies AI-assisted development tools responsibly under the guidance of senior team members, contributes to the troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of existing systems, and supports the management team with technical research and writing on sector-specific projects.

Engineering Full-time

Senior Software Engineer

This role exists to lead the technical design and delivery of complex features and modules across Traseable's software products, and to set the engineering quality standards the rest of the team works to. The Senior Software Engineer reviews the team's code - including AI-generated code - for correctness, security, and maintainability before it is merged, and sets the standards for how Traseable uses AI tools across the development lifecycle. The role carries significant technical autonomy: designing and shipping complex solutions with minimal supervision, keeping the server and platform healthy, and mentoring junior developers and interns so that the standard of the whole team rises. It also contributes senior research and technical writing to Traseable's projects, reports and proposals, and represents Traseable in technical and sector forums and in client engagements. The role reports to the Managing Director, and to the Technical Lead once that role is established.

Project Part-time

Intern - Solutions and Research

This internship offers a motivated student or recent graduate hands-on exposure to how software is designed, built, and tested for the Pacific's fisheries, agriculture, and climate sectors. Working alongside the Engineering team, the intern helps design solutions, tests products, and carries out research that shapes what we build. It suits someone with a background or strong interest in fisheries, agriculture, climate change, or environmental science who is curious about technology - here, understanding the sector matters as much as writing code. Hours are flexible, up to 20 per week, and can be arranged around a study timetable.
